In 2008, Bangladesh was able to produce 1,744 million cubic feet of gas per day, and this increased to 2,750 million cubic feet in 2018. According to him, the volume has currently fallen to 2,300 million cubic feet amid energy crunch.
The Prime Minister highlighted his government’s success in increasing agricultural production by improving fertilizer management, providing incentives to poor farmers amid natural calamities, and developing farm equipment.
He said that the government is taking steps to provide low-interest loans, low-cost fertilizers, high-quality seeds and irrigation methods to the farmers.
Despite the effects of climate change and the pandemic amid a global crisis, Hasina said her government was laying emphasis on modernization of the agricultural system.
The Prime Minister said that Bangladesh is looking into the possibilities of a global recession in 2023 and is focusing on averting any dire consequences.
