Nineteen people were killed and 24 injured in a road accident in Senegal early Monday, President Macky Sall said, the second major accident this month highlighting poor driving conditions in the West African country.
Sall said on Twitter that the accident occurred between the northern cities of St. Louis and Lauga.
This was followed by an accident on 8 January near the southeastern city of Kaffrine that killed 40 people and injured around 80, one of Senegal’s deadliest in recent memory.
