According to the National Road Safety Agency, Morocco records an average of 3,500 road deaths and 12,000 injuries per year, with an average of 10 deaths per day.
Last year the figure was around 3,200.
Authorities have set a target of halving the death rate by 2026 after 42 people died in the deadliest bus crash in the country’s history in 2012.
