A year later, the Rapid Action Battalion-11 probing the Tawki murder case held a conference on 5 March 2014, revealing the details of his killers, the motive for the murder and preparations for filing a charge sheet.
In the press conference, the then RAB Additional Director General Colonel Ziaul Ahsan said that a group of 11 people led by Ajmeri Usman abducted Tauqi and then killed him and would soon file a charge sheet in the court. However, till date the charge sheet is yet to be filed in this case.
Convenor of Santarsh Nirmul Tawki Manch, a forum of socio-cultural-political activists opposing the murder of Tanveer Muhammad Twaki, told Pratham Aalo that the person whose name appears in the confessional statement under Section 164 as Tawki’s killer, Who used to operate 4-5 torture cells in the city, who brutally tortured many businessmen of the city for extortion by bringing them to the torture cell, who is known everywhere as the killer of Aashiq, Chanchal, Bhooli and Mitti, And if Ajmeri Usman obtains a gun license, then the message will go to the country that he is still a hostage of the killers.
