Earlier announcement from Bangladesh Bank said, it will introduce new 2 tk note with portrait of the founder president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the 11th August. But yesterday the central bank released photo of other notes that have portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and will be released on same day, the 11th August.
Two tk notes will have signature of the finance secretary and 5, 100, 500, 1000 notes will have signature of the governor of central bank, Bangladesh Bank.
The government has decided to introduce portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on every Bangladeshi notes.
Paper of these notes are mixed with synthetic fiber, every notes will have portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and national mausoleum on front side; on the back of 2 tk will have Shahid Minar, 5 tk will have Kusumba mosque, 100 tk will have Tara mosque, 500 tk will have farmland, 1000 tk will have national parliament. All the notes are with portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as watermark.
Motijhel office will issue these notes first on 11th August, later it will be available from other branches of Bangladesh Bank and other commercial banks.
