The visitors to the fight initially refused to identify themselves. Upon repeated requests, one identified him as an Assistant Private Secretary (APS) to the President, while the other identified him as an Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). Weathers reported the matter to hospital officials and called the police.
Later, Kamrul Hasan, assistant director of the administrative section of the hospital, said that there was a scuffle between the visitors. They reported the matter to the police, who later took the concerned persons.
He also said that he learned about the identities of the individuals through media reports the next day.
Veres Ali could not be contacted for comment as he was absent from the hospital during the visit, while his colleagues declined to provide his contact number.
