The first One Day International (ODI) between Bangladesh and Ireland ended in no result as rain washed out 17 overs of play in the second innings and did not allow play to resume at the Country Ground in Chelmsford, England on Tuesday.
Mushfiqur Rahim’s 70-ball 61, along with 44 from Najmul Hossain Shanto and 27 from Tauheed Hriday and Mehidy Hasan Miraj helped Bangladesh reach 246–9 in 50 overs.
The Irish bowlers, aided by the conditions, tested the Bangladesh batsmen throughout the innings. IPL comeback fast bowler Josh Little took 3/61 while Graham Hume and Mark Adair took two wickets each.
