BNP leader Mirza Fakhrul, 6 others move ‘special’ bail plea

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Mirza Abbas are among seven BNP leaders who have applied for bail in connection with the December 7 violent clash outside the party headquarters in Naya Paltan, Dhaka.

According to his lawyer Zainul Abedin, a special petition was filed in the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s court on Sunday and is likely to come up for hearing later in the day.

Others seeking bail are BNP’s publicity secretary Shahiduddin Chowdhury Annie, Dhaka Metropolitan South convener Abdus Salam, former organizing secretary Fazlul Haq Milan, joint general secretary Khairul Kabir Khokon and former MP Salim Raza Habib.
