Britain’s King Charles met with Turkish and Syrian migrant volunteers in London on Tuesday to express his support after the recent earthquake in Turkey and northwest Syria that killed more than 37,000 people and left thousands homeless.
During a visit to West London Turkish Volunteers (WLTV), Charles shook hands with charity workers and chatted with them while packing scarves, blankets, jumpers and packets of biscuits as part of the earthquake relief efforts.
He also formally launched Syria House, a temporary Syrian community tent, in Trafalgar Square in central London, where he met with the capital’s mayor, Sadiq Khan, among others.
