Captain Rohit Sharma and his team’s semi-final win against New Zealand, considered their worst team, has answered questions about India’s weakness in the knockouts.

Rohit has led by example, with unbridled aggression at the top allowing others to play with more freedom.

Tournament leading scorer Virat Kohli has been the reliable anchor, while others have batted around the senior pair in India’s familiar template.

“Whenever the top five-six batsmen have got the opportunity, they have made it really important,” Rohit said after the semi-final. “Overall, the batting was fantastic and we want to bat with a similar strategy and move forward.”
