Five journalists receive DMF awards

Digital Media Forum (DMF) honoured five journalists with the 'Digital Media Excellence Awards 2024' at a recent event.

In addition, six individuals were honoured with the DMF Special Excellence Awards for their contribution to the country's media, digital and business sectors.

Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) director general Zafar Wazed, Jatiya Press Club (JPC) general secretary and Dainik Bhorer Kagoj editor Shyamal Dutta, Dhaka University's Mass Communication and Journalism Department professor Robet Ferdous and jury members UNB special correspondent Abdur Rahman Jahangir and Dainik Sabuj Nishan news head Md Mokshdur Rahman Wali presented the awards to the winners at a ceremony held at the Vishwa Sahitya Kendra in the capital.

The five award-winning journalists are Iyahia Naqib of Bonik Barta, SM Marzan Iwan of RTV, Zafar Iqbal of The Daily Kalbela, Sabbin Hasan of Samakal and Yasin Hasan of RisingBD.com.

Besides, Robolife Technologies founder and CEO Joy Barua, Daily Prothom Alo deputy manager Bibradhan Roy Emon, Tejgaon Police Station officer-in-charge Mohammad Mohsin PPM (BAR), Founder and CEO of FoundedNext & Next Ventures and Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (Basis) director Abdullah Zayed, Khabar Dabur Catering managing director Rafat Ul Islam Khan and Swapno managing director Sabbir Hasan Nasir were also given the DMF Special Excellence Award.
