Present global pandemic has paralyzed the education system. All educational institutes are closed. Some schools and private universities have tried to continue academic activities through online video conferencing. Bangladesh government has arranged classes through the state owned television which has terrestrial transmission facility.

But many rural families don’t have any television so they are not getting television class lessons. Online classroom and online video contents could be an alternative. But even many urban families can’t afford to subscribe mobile phone internet regularly. We are not getting any indication from experts that this pandemic will over soon.

So continuing academic activities has become a challenge. In an online seminar titled ‘Our duties on education during the global crisis’ the education minister has informed that the government is negotiating with mobile operators about free or low cost internet for students during the pandemic period.

The education minister also said, we would have to go for a digital education system to make our children ready for the upcoming fourth industrial revolution. So this present pandemic may accelerate the transition to digital embracement.
