Referring to the criminal activities of the Rohingya people who have taken refuge in Bangladesh, the minister said that they (Rohingya people) usually fight with each other with firearms, divided into several sub-groups.
“Rohingya scale barbed wire fence and cross into Myanmar to smuggle yaba. They have brutally killed a DGFI officer in Tambru camp recently. There was a shootout there yesterday i.e. on Wednesday as well. They set residential houses on fire,” he said.
Describing the Rohingya as a ‘malignant tumour’ for Bangladesh, the home minister said, “They came here (Bangladesh) leaving everything behind in Myanmar… Now they can do anything if they are tempted.”
