India hopeful of Rahul playing Mirpur Test despite hand injury

India’s stand-in captain Lokesh Rahul hurt his hand during practice but the visiting team is hopeful of the opener playing in the second and final Test against Bangladesh starting on Thursday.

India, who won the first Test in Chittagong by 188 runs and are looking for a 2-0 clean sweep, were without the services of regular skipper Rohit Sharma, who missed the series with a thumb injury.

“It (doesn’t look serious),” India’s batting coach Vikram Rathour told reporters on Wednesday.
