Local government ministry ordered two city corporations to remove the banners, posters and billboards from foot-over bridges ofDhakacity. Jahangir Kabir nanok ordered the two chief executive officers of the two city corporation.
There are allegations of snatching and illegal activities on many of the foot-over bridges due to these billboards. This initiative was taken to secure free movement of pedestrians on these bridges.
There are about half –a- hundred foot-over bridges inDhakacity. Earlier, similar drive has been taken to remove these billboards, posters and banners but little actions were seen. This time the local govern ministry will monitor the operations of removing these posters, billboards and banners.
