PM asks Islamic scholars to spread the true spirit of Islam so that no one can lead anyone towards extremism and terrorism and defame Islam which is the best religion in the world and always talks about peace .
He asked everyone especially the parents to be vigilant about their children.
Parents should see where their children are going and with whom their children are befriending, he said, adding that they (parents) also have to check whether their children are attending educational institutions regularly or not.
Referring to the hundreds of letters he received from various religious extremists across the world threatening to kill him after a criminal was convicted, the Prime Minister said, “Since then, I have realized that terrorists know no religion and no borders.” “
She said that as Prime Minister of Bangladesh she always opposed the attempt to label Islam with the word terrorism in many international events, saying, “Terrorism is the only religion of terrorists”.
The Prime Minister called upon Islamic scholars to be vigilant about defaming Islam by anyone through terrorism.
