Renowned economist Professor Nurul Islam has passed away.
Former Deputy Chairman of the first Planning Commission, he breathed his last at 12:00 noon local time in Washington DC, United States.
Adnan Morshed, a professor at the Catholic University of America in Washington, confirmed the news of his death to Prothom Alo at 6:30 pm on Tuesday.
