Russia and NASA extend joint ISS flight agreement until 2025

“An agreement was reached on continuing the cross-flight until 2025,” Roscosmos said in a press release.

It said the decision was taken “solely to maintain the reliability of the ISS”.

Its purpose is to “guarantee the presence of at least one representative of Roscosmos on the Russian segment and at least one representative of NASA on the American segment.”

The ISS was launched in 1998 at a time of increased US–Russian cooperation following the Cold War “space race”.
