Kiev’s air force said on Friday Russia launched four Kinzhal hypersonic missiles at targets in western Ukraine.

“One Kh-47 missile was destroyed within the Kiev region, while the rest were destroyed near the Kolomya airfield in the Ivano-Frankivsk region,” the air force said.

“Civilian facilities and infrastructure were damaged and one missile hit a residential area,” it said.

Kiev said the attack targeted a house near the western city of Kolomiya, killing an eight-year-old boy playing in the courtyard, Bogdan Stanislavsky, the mayor of Kolomiya, said on Telegram.

At least one person was killed and 14 wounded in a Russian attack on the city of Zaporizhia on Thursday, according to Ukrainian officials.

The United Nations condemned the attack, which it said was a hotel used by its teams and other NGOs working in the region.

The Russian Defense Ministry said it had attacked a base of foreign mercenaries in the city.
