Sri Lanka survived a major scare at the hands of Afghanistan, before reaching the Super League with a narrow win that saw a drama of miscalculation.
Afghanistan believed they would need to chase down 292 in 37.1 overs to raise their net run-rate, but as they neared the target, analysts pointed to different numbers.
Silverwood said it remains a “watershed moment” for all teams looking at run-rates and counts.
Bangladesh coach Chandika Hathurusingha is confident of her team’s chances in the next two matches.
“We have to play against different opponents in different conditions from the last two matches, so it is a big challenge for us,” said former Sri Lankan all-rounder Hathurusingha.
“But we are capable of much more than what we have shown. Inconsistency is what we have to address and look forward to putting in a good performance.”
