The tourists reached 32-0 at lunch in Visakhapatnam with Jack Crawley (15 runs) and left-hander Ben Duckett (17 runs) hitting six fours between them.

England, leading 1-0 in the five-match series, trails the hosts by 364 runs.

Left-handed batsman Jaiswal started the game at 179 runs and took debutant spinner Shoaib Bashir past 200 runs by hitting a six and a four in the first session.

The 22-year-old took off his helmet, jumped for joy and kissed the weekend crowd who had stood up to applaud his marathon innings.
