Three workers of a metal industry in Kushtia died when they fell in an oil tanker carrying furnace oil. The workers are Mehedi Hassan Shohagh (28), Ripon Hossain (45) and Mintu (46). The industry authority did not provide the details of the mishap which took place on Tuesday evening.
According to police and some other sources the workers were about to unload furnace oil when two tanker entered the factory. A worker fell in when he was opening the cover on top of a tanker. Two other workers jumped into the tanker to rescue him. They did not come back. Later fire service personnel recovered the bodies. Fire service officials are thinking that the workers died because of shortage of oxygen in the tanker.
