After the success of “Kistimat,” breakthrough director Ashiqur Rahman is working on “Mission America,” a brand-new action thriller set and wholly shot in the United States.

Toma Mirza, who came onto the scene in 2010 with “Bolo Na Tumi Amar,” pairs up with newcomer Shayer Aziz in the bank-heist thriller.

The film revolves around a scheme to rob $120m in diamonds from a vault named America by the lead character played by Shayer Aziz.

Tiger Robi, Iresh Zaker, Saju Khadem and Salman Muktadir also star in the film alongside Toma Mirza and Shayer Aziz, while the production is hoping to involve mainstream Hollywood actors in the film as well.

Ashiqur Rahman said to the Dhaka Tribune: “The entire shooting of the film will be held in Los Angeles. We are planning to introduce some new technologies that have not been used before in Bangladeshi films.”

Shooting of the film, jointly produced by Rain Pictures and Rainbow Media of Los Angeles, will commence in the first week of February.
