The rich can spend huge amount of money for their medical treatment, even they spend for impotency. The poor especially the disable poor are helpless.
Bangladesh government alone can’t take the responsibility. Other social and charitable organizations contribution is badly needed.
Yesterday in association with the American free Wheel Chair Mission, the Foundation for Women and Child Assistance distributed 50 wheel chairs among poor children and persons with disabilities. A simple ceremony was arranged at Park Palace of Rajshahi. There the speakers urged for the change of attitude towards the disable. They also emphasized on the contribution of the disabled people in the society. If they get the opportunity they will not be a burden and they will be asset of the society. But disable people from the poor families even do not get the opportunity to prove themselves.
Besides Foundation for Women and Child Assistance president Sadiqur Rahman, deputy director of Department of Social Service Hamida Begum, social leader Shaheen Akter Rainy, and FWCA executive director Wahida Khanom spoke on the occasion.
