Zimbabwe beat Bangladesh by 5 wickets in first ODI of Grameen Phone one day series at Dhaka yesterday. Winning the toss Zimbabwe decided to field first. Both of Bangladeshi openers go back to pavilion when the team score was only 5 runs. Then little master Ashraful tried to settle the proceedings. But both failed to do that. Bangladesh lost their 8 wickets at 124 runs. Then, lower order batsman Dollar Mahmud and Mushfiqur Rahim managed to push the innings to 186 from their 46.5 over. Mushfiq scored 56 from 78 balls and Dollar scored astonishing 41 from 30 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes.

Chasing a small total of 187 Zimbabwe starts well but they lost the momentum when Spinner Abdur Razzak took three wickets in one over. But Charles Coventry, Matshikenery and Elton Chigambura did not give any chance to Bangladesh to come back. Chigambura scored unbeaten 60 runs from just 50 balls and Matshikenery scored unbeaten 47 runs from 55 balls to finish the game within 34.4 over with five wickets in hand. Mirpur Stadium was fully packed by spectators. Elton Chigambura adjudged man of the match. Through this win Zimbabwe lead the five match series by 1-0.
