Investigators also said that Shaheenuddin broke the boundary wall of a plot of Awal’s housing project after not getting the land back 20 days before the murder. As a result, Awal hired assassins and Shaheenuddin was murdered by them.
On 17 May 2021, Shaheenuddin’s mother filed a case of murder at Pallabi police station.
After Pallabi police station and DB, the case was handed over to PBI for further investigation. PBI investigated and submitted the charge sheet after one and a half years.
Soon after the incident, Manik was killed in an alleged shootout with the RAB and Monir was killed in an alleged shootout with the DB for his ‘direct involvement’ in the Shaheenuddin murder.

PIB sources said that one of the accused is absconding. Others are on bail.
