The anti-corruption watchdog told the media that 17 candidates for the post of Vice President and six candidates contesting for the post of Women Vice President are millionaires.
The number of such rich candidates on both the posts has increased almost three times as compared to the last elections.
The calculation of assets has been prepared on the basis of movable assets. TIB said, since the value of land is a complex issue, it has not been included in the calculations.
In the first phase of elections, 560 candidates are contesting for the posts of President, 611 for the posts of Vice President and 435 candidates for the posts of Women Vice President. Voting is to be held on May 8.
TIB analysis shows that 69.86 per cent of candidates identified him as a businessman and 11.19 per cent identified him as a farmer. Some 6.32 percent are lawyers and 4.15 percent candidates are teachers.
