At least 10 pro-Iran militants were killed and 30 others were wounded in airstrikes launched by US forces in eastern Syria on Saturday, a war monitor said.
Since the start of the Israel-Hamas war on October 7, the Middle East has seen an increase in attacks on US forces, which Washington blames on Tehran-aligned armed groups across the region.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at least nine airstrikes “killed 10 pro-Iran fighters, including three Syrians, and wounded more than 30” which were “possibly American”.
The Britain-based Observatory, which has an extensive network of sources inside war-torn Syria, said they targeted military positions in and around Albu Kamal in Deir Ezzor province near the border with Iraq.
