A 48-hour hartal has been called by the main opposition party BNP and its key ally Jakmaat-e-Islami from July 6 .
The hartal has been called to protest the scrapping of the caretaker government.
The hartal is starting at 6 am on Wednesday and will continue till 6 am Friday.
The two parties declared the programme by calling separate press conferences.
From BNP, acting general secretary, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the programme at a press conference at party office at Naya Paltan in the capital.
From Jamaat , acting secretary general, ATM Azharul Islam announced the same programme at a press conference at their party office at Moghbazar
