Bangladesh Bank appoints supervisors at Islami Bank, First Security Bank

Bangladesh Bank has appointed supervisors in Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited and First Security Islami Bank after the media exposed huge irregularities in lending to several shell organizations in these two private banks.

Central bank spokesman Mezbol Haque told Prothom Alo that the two banks have been asked to maintain a number of instructions in the context of recent discussions.

Supervisors will see whether these instructions are followed or not.
