India, who had already confirmed the final, came without five of their favorite players, but Bangladesh also made six changes to their lineup, which was mainly dominated by young players.

“A lot of players got injured and some were going in and out, it didn’t help us. I think we will be a dangerous team in the World Cup,” Shakib said during the post-match presentation.

Shakib himself played an important role in the victory by taking 80 runs for 85 runs and one wicket for 43 runs in 10 overs. Thanks to their counter-attack, Bangladesh posted a competitive score of 265-8 despite initially falling behind at 59-4.

He then wisely made bowling changes as India fell short by six runs and were all out for 259 in 49.5 overs.
