He said one of the main reasons for the poor performance in the Asia Cup was injury concerns and missing key players when it mattered most. With a six-run win over favorites India in their last game, Bangladesh made a statement about the strength of their team. Shakib believes that they will be a dangerous team in the upcoming World Cup when they get all their first-choice players in the team.

India, who had already confirmed the final, came without five of their favorite players, but Bangladesh also made six changes to their lineup, which was mainly dominated by young players.

“A lot of players got injured and some were going in and out, it didn’t help us. I think we will be a dangerous team in the World Cup,” Shakib said during the post-match presentation.

Shakib himself played an important role in the victory by taking 80 runs for 85 runs and one wicket for 43 runs in 10 overs. Thanks to their counter-attack, Bangladesh posted a competitive score of 265-8 despite initially falling behind at 59-4.
