Noting that Chinese President Xi Jinping launched the Belt and Road
He said the initiative (BRI) in 2013 is now bearing fruit. “Our strong support and
Cooperation for Bangladesh will continue,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, BIDA Executive Member (Additional Secretary) Avijit Chaudhary urged Chinese investors to invest in Bangladesh as the investment climate there is favorable.
“Bangladesh will achieve LDC graduation by 2026. Therefore, we will have to face a lot of
Challenges. We need more foreign direct investment, especially from China, in technology and labor skills development to compete with the 4IR.”
