The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Shamim Miya, 45, his wife Shimu Sarkar, 40, and Shakeel Miya, 35, all residents of Durgapur village in Gaibandha Sadar.
Eyewitnesses said the bus sped off after hitting a CNG-run autorickshaw going from Gaibandha towards Palashbari. “The autorickshaw was shattered by the collision and three passengers died on the spot,” Masood said.
The injured have been admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. According to Masood, the police is working to identify the missing bus.
