Case filed against agitating students and teachers

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) authority has filed a case against agitating students and teachers at Shahbag police station. Allegation of vandalizing the vice chancellor’s office is brought against them. Huge number of riot police is deployed there.

Earlier in the day of yesterday the general students and teachers visited the vice chancellor office, but he was not there. The students burnt effigies of vc and pro-vc. A few members of disbanded student wing of the ruling party Chatra League threatened the students to withdraw the agitation programme. They wore white T-shirt in reply of black T-shirt protest from the students.

Chatra League also warned the journalists not to publish any of their photograph and news otherwise they will not be allowed to enter the BUET campus.

BUET is considered as one of the finest institute for higher education in Bangladesh. Former students have repeatedly expressed their concern that this institute is losing its reputation due to this crisis.

The students and teachers are demanding the removal of these two for allegation of irregularities.
