Schools and colleges were scheduled to reopen on April 21 after the end of Eid holidays, but the closure was extended till April 27 due to extreme heat and heat wave across the country.
Classes resumed on 28 April, although there was no notable change in the heat wave situation, which worried parents, especially primary level students.
Following the High Court order, the authorities have extended the closure of primary and secondary level educational institutions till May 2.
The HC passed the order suo motu following reports of deaths and illness of people, including teachers and students, following the reopening of educational institutions.
