Fincher apparently called Love later to confirm her exit from the film. The film, which initially flopped at the box office but went on to become one of Fincher’s most popular directorial efforts, starred Bonham Carter instead.
According to another media outlet, Fight Club, directed by David Fincher and based on Chuck Palahniuk’s novel of the same name, was released in 1999 by 20th Century Fox.
The chaotic drama follows an unnamed, insomniac office worker (Norton) and devil-may-care soap producer Tyler Durden (Pitt) as they start an underground fight club that soon becomes too much.
Marla, Love’s would-be character, is the female lead of Fight Club and Darden’s love interest.
