There will be a nighttime flight suspension for three months at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, formerly known as Zia International Airport. The airport authority is currently building a third terminal for the prime airport. This three-month-long suspension will begin from 10th December and end on 11th March. Construction of Taxiway for the third terminal will be carried on from 12:00 am to 8:00 pm. Fifty percent of flight operates during the time. So all local and foreign airlines are notified about the suspension so that they can reschedule their flights.

Usually, flight schedules are adjusted during the foggy winter season. So the authority is expecting this rescheduling will not be a big problem. Moreover, Osmani Airport at Sylhet will be on standby for emergency landing.
