England's Will Jaques on Sunday provided a timely reminder of his involvement in the T20 World Cup by playing a match-winning innings of 100 runs in 41 balls for IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Jacques hit 10 sixes in his blitz and shared an unbeaten partnership of 166 runs with Virat Kohli, who made 70.

Bengaluru chased down the 201-run victory target against Gujarat Titans with four overs and nine wickets to spare as Jack hit the winning six, completing his century.

In the second match of the day, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad played an inning of 98 runs as Chennai Super Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 78 runs to reach third place in the table.

Jack and Gaikwad's innings came just two days before the International Cricket Council's May 1 deadline to announce the squads for the T20 World Cup in June.

Bengaluru got their third win in 10 matches so far this season and second consecutive win, keeping their slim hopes of reaching the play-offs alive.
