According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, “Very severe heat is prevailing in Jashore and Rajshahi districts and parts of Khulna Division, Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalganj, Naugaon, Pabna and Nilphamari districts. Light to moderate heat is prevailing in Barisal division, parts of Dhaka, Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions, Mymensingh, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni and Bandarban districts.

It says discomfort may persist due to increased moisture ingress.

The country's highest temperature of 42.2 degrees Celsius was recorded in Jashore district on Sunday and 18 mm rainfall was recorded in Sunamganj till 6:00 am on Monday.
