After three days of blockade, university vice-chancellor Professor Nurul Alam and other top administrative officials held discussions with the protesters on Thursday afternoon.
The Vice Chancellor assured the protesters that the Proctor and Provost of Mir Mosharraf Hussain Hall would resign by March 17. If he does not resign, he will be relieved on March 18.
In such a situation, Proctor ASM Firoz ul Hasan resigned today.
The protesting teachers and students alleged that ASM Firoz Ul Hasan tried to save the criminals by covering up various crimes at different times in the past.
He said that he also did not perform his duty properly.
