Sheikh Hasina asked the expatriates to remain alert about conspiracies and said that conspiracies were still being hatched.
“They (BNP and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami faction) are now demanding cancellation of the elections,” he said.
Referring to the 2008 parliamentary elections, the Prime Minister said the BNP and Jamaat alliance got only 30 seats, while the Awami League alone secured 233 seats.
“Since then, they do not want any elections. They are setting buses, launches, trains on fire and burning people to death. The more they carry out terrorist activities and arson violence, the more people reject them,” she stressed.
Awami League president hit out hard at BNP as they are doing politics at their party office. “They close their office and then open it again. He has also lost the keys to his office and the way. They have turned into pedestrians who have lost their way.”
He stressed that BNP has one quality and that is arson terrorism.
Referring to the removal of fishplates of the railway track which killed many people, the Prime Minister further said that the BNP people are skilled in laying traps to kill people.
He said that along with committing violence, the BNP had distributed pamphlets among the people urging them to boycott the elections.
