Quader, general secretary of the governing Bangladesh Awami League, said increasing the number of metro coaches depends on technical issues.
He said nowhere in the world is there a metrorail with more than five coaches, but in Bangladesh the metrorail is already running with six coaches.
But, the transport minister said, due to increasing demand, work is underway on whether the gap period between two metro rail movements can be reduced from the current 10 minutes to 8 minutes.
