Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina donated 5 lakhs taka for better treatment of pop singer Azam khan who is suffering in serious disease.
“The Prime Minister gave the sum for improved treatment of Azam Khan from the PM’s Relief and Welfare Fund,” said Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Md Nazrul Islam.
Azam Khan popularly known as “Guru” has been suffering from oral cancer. He has taken treatment earlier at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore.
Deputy Press Secretary Md. Nazrul Islam and Prime Minister’s Assignment Officer Monoj Kanti Boral handed over the cheque of the sum to the eminent pop singer at his residence at No-2, Jasimuddin Road in Kamalapur here on behalf of the Prime Minister.
Receiving the cheque, the ailing pop singer expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for her humanitarian gesture.
Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina donated Taka two lakh for his treatment in Singapore.
