Perhaps two Wimax operators Qubee and Banglalion will introduce LTE technology before the mobile phone operators. State owned mobile operator teletalk has introduced 3G service last year and four other mobile operators were issued 3G license and frequency from an auction last month. They are expected to start 3G service in full swing by the end of this year. They are allowed to introduce 4Gs service now. But they decided to go for 3G, because they think this market is not ready for 4G. Not so many users have 4G enabled mobile phone at this moment.
Wimax operators have been offering high speed internet through their wireless network. But this technology is becoming obsolete. Manufacturers are stopping the production of modem and other network equipments. So Wimax operators Banglalion and Qubee have decided to use LTE network, which has more speed capacity. BTRC has already approved this. But the operators can offer internet service only, voice calls are not allowed. Operators are planning to introduce LTE network by mid-next-year.
Users will need to buy new LTE modem then. Wimax operators in many developed countries have replaced their network with LTE. So if you are a Wimax user, you will need to buy a new modem next year but you will have the opportunity to enjoy higher speed.
