GM Quader said, “We cannot consider the ruling party as a political party. Awami League has now lost its political character. A political party will have a pro-people program and ideology, which is not present in the Awami League. “They are now trying to replace the republic with monarchy, totalitarianism or dictatorship.”
The JPA president alleged that the elections were conducted in three ways. Explaining the process, he said, first of all, free and fair elections were conducted in one or two constituencies on the instructions of the government. Secondly, victory was ensured in whatever way possible by using administration and spending money. And thirdly, as per the demand of the government, many candidates have been made victorious. The result was that many popular candidates of Japan could not win the elections.
Jatiya Party general secretary Mujibul Haq Chunnu, co-chairman ABM Ruhul Amin Havildar, Salma Islam, presidium member Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Rezaul Islam Bhuiyan, Mustafa Al Mahmood, Zaheerul Islam and Zaheerul Alam, advisor Ashrafuzzaman and others addressed the programme. Various levels of party leaders from different districts participated in it.
