BCB chief selector, Ghazi Ashraf Hussain recently ruled out the possibility of Tamim's return for the upcoming T20 World Cup (USA and West Indies) in June.
Amid uncertainty over Tamim's international career, board president Nazmul Hasan revealed that Tamim could make a comeback next year.
“Tamim discussed his possible comeback with Jalal Younis and others. He will meet me now,” Nazmul said. He indicated that he had heard of Tamim's intention to return next year.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh team is now focusing on preparing for the five-match T20 series against Zimbabwe starting on May 3 in Chattogram. BCB has announced a 17-member preliminary preparation squad for the Zimbabwe series.
