The Awami League has re-elected Sheikh Hasina and Obaidul Quader to lead the ruling party as president and general secretary respectively for the next three years.
The decision came at the 22nd National Council of the party at the auditorium of the Institute of Engineers on Saturday.
Amir Hussein Amu, a member of the party’s policy-making body, proposed the name of the prime minister for the presidency, which was supported by all councillors.
