A Pakistan support staff member praised Hyderabad’s famous biryani on social media and after a warm-up match, all-rounder Shadab Khan quipped that eating biryani regularly had made him slower on the field.
Babar, the current top-ranked ODI batsman, praised the popular dish, saying, “We have heard a lot about Hyderabadi Biryani and we love it.”
However, he was less impressed by the short boundaries at some Indian venues, which he feared might leave the bowlers short of cannon-fodder over the next six weeks.
“The boundaries are small. There is no margin for the bowlers,” he said.
“If the bowling is even a little bad, the batsman makes use of it. Hence, there will be higher scores.”
