The court ruled that the investigation should be completed in three months without fail. After completing the investigation, the ACC will have to submit the report to the High Court through the Registrar of the Supreme Court. Failure to complete the probe will invite legal action against the anti-corruption watchdog.

ACC counsel Mohd Khurshid Alam Khan said the commission has not faced such a situation earlier, but the investigators have met the deadline in many cases. “The court did not specify the issue of 56 cases. We are assuming that the order has been given in this matter.

The court said that if the investigation is not completed within the stipulated time, a lot of evidence will be destroyed.

“This is people’s money, it cannot be used for anything other than the betterment of the people and the country. It is the responsibility of the bank to safeguard the money. The failure of the bank manager here is not a silly thing.
