The central bank of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Bank has warned e-commerce companies about taking customer payments directly to their bank accounts. This warning came amid complaints from some customers that many e-commerce companies are asking customers to pay directly to their bank accounts.

Fraudulence in online business has become a concern for Bangladeshi customers in recent years. Some e-commerce companies like Evally, E-orange has taken customer’s money but didn’t deliver the product.

So, Bangladesh Bank has ordered online payment gateways to withhold customer’s payment until the product is delivered to customers.

It seems some e-commerce companies are not liking this method. Bangladesh Bank officials have said, this may trigger more fraudulence, and the central bank may issue another circular to stop this practice.
